West Coast Swim Club, Western Australia.

Club Structure

The Club

Established in 1971, West Coast Swimming Club has maintained its position as one of Perth's leading swimming clubs since the 1972/73 season. The Club’s objective is to provide a friendly environment through which members are encouraged and supported to achieve their goals in swimming as a sport.

The Club promotes sportsmanship, encourages competition and supports personal achievement at all levels through Membership Services and Squad Training. The ongoing success of the Club depends on teamwork between these two areas, as well as the support of numerous parent volunteers.

Squads

The Squad Training Program is operated by the Director of Coaching in conjunction with a Board of Management. This Team is responsible for guiding the professional coaching staff and administration of the squad programs, which then report to the West Coast Committee.

The Committee

The Club’s Committee is the foundation of administration and organisation of West Coast Swimming Club. These members are volunteers. Committee members are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in accordance with the Constitution. Only financial (associate or competitive) Club Members over 16 years, and Life Members are eligible for election to the Committee or to vote at General Meetings.

All parents are strongly encouraged to become non-competitive members to be eligible to vote at the AGM and General Meetings. Once the Office Bearers are elected, the process of governing the Club commences. All operation is in accordance with the affiliation and governance requirements of Swimming WA.

Committee meetings are held monthly. Please contact the Secretary for dates and times of meetings. If a Committee or non-Committee member has an item they would like considered by the Committee, they are to advise the Secretary, preferably in writing.
