Club Structure
The Club
The key objective of the West Coast swimming Club is to provide a friendly environment through which members are encouraged and supported to achieve their objectives in swimming as a sport. The Club comprises two main components: the Committee and the Coaching. Both these areas work independently and together to achieve success for all swimmers.
West Coast was formed in 1971 and has maintained its position as one of Perth's
(Western Australia) leading swimming club since the 1972/73 season. This has
been achieved by providing encouragement and support for swimmers from junior
development programs through to high performance swimming squads. The club
promotes sportsmanship, encourages competition and supports personal achievement.
The Committee
West Coast is managed by a Committee. This Committee is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting. Senior members (competitive and noncompetitive) elect members to the various positions on the Committee.

Only financial club members and life members over 16 years are eligible for election to the Committee or to vote at general meetings. All parents are strongly encouraged to become non competitive members to be eligible to vote at the AGM and general meetings.
The role of the Committee is to administer the Club. This involves: fund raising, record keeping, financial management and the setting of policies to enable the Club to achieve its objectives.
Committee meetings are held monthly and parents are welcome to attend. Please contact the President or Secretary for dates and times of meetings. If a Committee or non-Committee member has an item they would like considered by the Committee, they are to advise the Secretary, preferably in writing.
